In the art center, we made glue designs and then poured salt on top.
Our little fingers at work!
CENTER TIME
Math Centers- we practiced recognizing numbers 1-30
We practiced our letter-sounds by playing the game "erase the letter"
At the writing center, we practiced writing the letters in the word Shabbat
The Morah held up a picture and we had to count how many syllables were in the word
CIRCLE TIME
Gavriel is clapping the number of syllables in his name. Then he places his picture under the appropriate number on the graph. Gavriel has three syllables in his name.
more salt paintings...
WRITING CENTER
We wrote Havdalah on our Havdalah placemat
Yona made Asher a friendship card
We pulled the weeds that grew in our basil plant
HAVDALAH
We learned that Shabbos is over when three stars appear in the sky. We say the blessings of Havdalah to conclude the day of rest.
Using our senses, we explored Havdalah.
We poured the grape juice into the kiddush cup
With our nose, we smelled the spices. We made the bracha for besomin first
We watched the havdalah flames dance
We learned that a havdalah candle needs more than one flame because fire is used in more than one way
Finally, we tasted the sweet grape juice
Creating our Havdalah placemats
Meir and Oriya worked together to sweep our entire classroom
Shabbat Shalom!
Morah Sarah and Morah Neshama
